MAPOLY announces closure of indefinite school as students protest

The management of the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, Ogun State has announced the closure of the Polytechnic effective from Monday, 13th January 2025, till further notice.

This according to the school authority is to ensure the safety of lives and properties owing to the protest by some students.

Media Talk Africa reports that the protest had erupted following the decision of the Management to verify the National Diploma results from their former schools.

The students are also protesting an alleged increase in tuition fees and delay in the mobilization of higher national diploma students for the National Youth Service.

The closure of the school was contained in a press statement issued in Abeokuta, by the public relations officer of the institution, Yemi Ajibola.

According to the statement, the management expressed its zero tolerance for fake results from any quarter and advised students to stay away from the campus in their interests.

Parents and members of the public are assured of a timely update as events unfold.
