EPL: I see him leaving Stamford Bridge – Chris Sutton on Chelsea star

Former Chelsea star Chris Sutton believes the club will sell Christopher Nkunku before the January transfer window closes.
According to Sutton, Nkunku will leave Stamford Bridge because manager Enzo Maresca seems reluctant to use him.

The France international is down the pecking order in Maresca’s choice of strikers.

Nkunku completed a £52 million move to the Blues from RB Leipzig in the summer of 2023.

He was impressive for Leipzig during his time in the Bundesliga.

However, Nkunku struggled with injuries during his first season at Chelsea, making just 14 appearances in all competitions.

This season, the 27-year-old has continued to struggle for game time under Maresca despite returning to full fitness.

“I can see Christopher Nkunku leaving,” Sutton told NewBettingSites.

“Enzo Maresca seems reluctant to use his bench, and Nkunku hasn’t had enough regular game time.”

He added: “The fact he’s down the pecking order and not getting regular game time certainly tells you that Maresca thinks he’s OK, but you need more than OK if you want to push for the Premier League title.”
