Again, DSS picks up activist Mahdi Shehu

Security personnel, believed to be from the Department of State Services (DSS), reportedly detained activist Mahdi Shehu.

According to Daily Trust, he was apprehended by plainclothes operatives at his clinic in Unguwar Dosa around 11:00 a.m.

No official statement has been released by security agencies regarding the arrest of the Kaduna-based activist and political commentator.

However, Mahdi’s son, Buhari Mahdi, mentioned they have been unable to communicate with his father since the incident.

In December 2024, Mahdi was arrested and subsequently charged in court for sharing a misleading video on social media.

The Kaduna State High Court granted him bail on January 9, 2025, with a bail amount of ₦3 million and requiring two prominent clerics as sureties.
