Azman Airline security guard remanded over alleged theft of 80 aircraft brakes

A Kano State Magistrate Court, under the leadership of Shari’a Judge Faruk Ibrahim Umar, has sent some individuals to prison for remand pending further investigation over charges of conspiracy and theft.

The charges against the individuals state that on December 11th, 2025, a man named Otaru Bashir, an employee of Azman Airline, reported that a security guard at the company, along with some others, conspired and stole 80 pieces of aircraft brake.

The accused individuals are alleged to have stolen the brake, which amounted to 80 pieces, at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport.

The accused individuals include Nuhu Auwalu, Yakubu Bala, Emanuel Luka, and Safiyanu Abdullahi. When the charges were read out to them, all the accused denied the allegations. Consequently, the court ordered that the individuals be remanded in custody and scheduled January 16th for further hearing.

Our correspondent, Yusuf Nadabo Isma’il, reported that during the court proceedings, it was mentioned that police investigations revealed that the stolen goods were valued at about 140 million Naira.

However, during the investigation, three pieces of the stolen brake were recovered from the third accused person, Yakubu Bala.
