EPL: They’re your best players – Owen Hargreaves advises Man Utd against selling Rashford, two others

Former Manchester United midfielder, Owen Hargreaves has advised the club against selling the likes of Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo.

Hargreaves insisted that the trio are Man United’s best players.

He described the Red Devils’ decision to listen to loan offers for Rashford as ‘madness’ and also urged the Premier League club to keep Garnacho and Mainoo at Old Trafford.

Rashford has made it clear he is keen to leave Man United to get a ‘new challenge’ in another club.

The England forward has attracted interest from several clubs across Europe, including Borussia Dortmund, AC Milan and Barcelona.

Garnacho and Mainoo have also been linked with a move away from United amid the ongoing January transfer window.

Speaking after Man United’s Premier League 3-1 win over Southampton on Thursday, Hargreaves told Premier League Productions:

“Obviously losing Marcus Rashford could be a huge blow, talk about Garnacho potentially leaving, that’s a worry.”

When asked what he would do if he were in charge of Man United, Hargreaves replied: “Nobody’s leaving… Rashford’s not leaving, Mainoo’s not leaving, Garnacho… nobody is leaving.

“They are your best players, we are going to help integrate these and build around them, you are not going to get better than them.

“To let these guys go on loan and pay half their wages is madness. Impossible, I wouldn’t let it happen.”
