Chelsea have made a shock enquiry for Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho.
Garnacho’s future at Old Trafford has become increasingly uncertain in recent weeks.
The 20-year-old appears to have fallen out of favour under new manager Ruben Amorim.
According to The Athletic, Chelsea have now held early discussions about the Argentine as they consider swooping this month.
Amorim has expressed a desire to keep Garnacho at United and recently praised him for adapting to his system.
However, almost all of United’s squad is effectively up for sale, due to the club’s dire financial situation.
This raises the prospect that Garnacho could be sold over the next fortnight should his valuation be met.
Garnacho is said to have been the subject of a £40m bid from Napoli but this was reportedly rejected, while other clubs in Europe are likely to be circling.
