EPL: Alan Shearer predicts Arsenal vs Aston Villa, Chelsea, Man Utd fixtures

The Premier League title race took a twist in midweek, after Liverpool were held to a 1-1 draw at Nottingham Forest.

Arsenal capitalized by beating North London rivals Tottenham 2-1 a day later.

There promises to be more drama at the top and bottom of the league this weekend.

Arne Slot’s men are away again to Brentford, while the Gunners welcome Aston Villa in Saturday’s late kick-off.

Manchester United will look to embark on a winning run as they host Brighton, while Chelsea are at home to Wolves.

Shearer, speaking with BetFair, said: “Arsenal v Aston Villa – Arsenal were much better against Spurs, that being said they still missed chances and I’m still not convinced that they’re in a good place up top and I won’t be until they get a top class forward in there. This will be a tougher test for them, and I’m going to say this one will be a draw. Prediction: Draw.

“Man Utd v Brighton – I think they’ll have enough to get something out of the game, because I’m not convinced United’s system will work against Brighton. Prediction: Draw.

“Ipswich v Man City – I think it will be a tough ask [for Ipswich] and I can see City taking all three points. Prediction: Man City win.

“Chelsea v Wolves – I think Chelsea will get back to winning ways in this one, and they need to. Prediction: Chelsea win.”
