EPL table: Liverpool open 7 points lead after 2-0 win over Brentford

Liverpool on Saturday evening extended their lead on top of the Premier League table with seven points.

This followed their 2-0 away victory at Brentford.

Media Talk Africa reports that the first half ended goalless as both teams failed to score.

However, in the second half the Reds scored two late goals, thanks to Darwin Núñez’s brace.

The victory means Arne Slot’s side now have 50 points from 21 games.

Liverpool are ahead of second position Arsenal with seven points gap.

Arsenal will take on Aston Villa on Saturday evening.

The Gunners need a victory against Villa to close the gap on Liverpool.

Meanwhile, Liverpool will now shift their attention to the Champions League where they will face Lille on Tuesday.
