FG Launches Youth Farmers Enrollment Portal to Address Unemployment and Food Insecurity

The Youth Farmers Enrollment Portal, an innovative initiative by the Federal Government, has been launched to combat rising unemployment and food insecurity in Nigeria. Spearheaded by Comrade Ayodele Olawande, the Honourable Minister of Youth Development, the program is set to empower Nigerian youth aged 18 to 35 with agricultural skills and opportunities to foster economic growth.

This groundbreaking initiative, developed in collaboration with the Nigerian Youth Economic Engagement and De-Radicalisation Programme (NIYEDEP), is part of the government’s strategy to create jobs for Nigerian youth in 2025. By focusing on agriculture, food, and agro-allied sectors, the program aims to generate six million direct jobs, contributing to food security in Nigeria.

The platform provides access to modern farming techniques, mentorship, and financial resources for young Nigerians looking to start or expand agricultural ventures. The Youth Farmers Enrollment Portal is a direct response to pressing challenges like poverty, unemployment, and food scarcity, which threaten the nation’s stability.

Minister Olawande emphasized that this initiative aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic agenda, promoting active youth participation in national development. “This is not just about increasing food production. It’s about equipping young Nigerians with sustainable skills to create jobs and secure the nation’s future,” he stated.

If you’re between 18 and 35 and passionate about agriculture, seize this opportunity to build a sustainable career and contribute to the nation’s progress. Register now at www.niyedep.org to join the movement towards a better Nigeria.

By addressing unemployment and boosting agricultural productivity, the Youth Farmers Enrollment Portal is poised to be a game-changer for Nigeria’s youth and economy.
