Super Eagles: Okocha canvasses support for new head coach, Chelle

Former Super Eagles captain, Austine Okocha says it is important for football fans in Nigeria to fully support new head coach of the team, Eric Chelle.

Chelle’s appointment has divided opinion among football fans and pundits in Nigeria.

Okocha said it is important to give the Malian total support to make his job a success.

The erstwhile Bolton Wanderers playmaker further stated that it is important for the Super Eagles to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

“The decision to appoint the new coach was that of the NFF,” Okocha told Lagos Talks FM.

“We should give him a chance to do his job.
We should support him as well as the NFF and hopefully we will be at the World Cup.

“We all want the team to qualify for the World Cup because we all benefit when they are doing well.”
