Umahi disowns fake Facebook accounts

The Minister of Works, David Umahi, has disowned Facebook accounts allegedly created by impersonators to defraud the public.

Umahi made this known in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Uchenna Orji, on Tuesday in Abakaliki.

He identified the fake Facebook accounts as: “Sen. David Nweze Umahi,” “Sen. David Umahi,” and “Sen. Nweze David Umahi.”

“These Facebook accounts are operated by fraudsters and unscrupulous individuals who are scamming unsuspecting members of the public.

“None of these accounts belongs to the Honourable Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi,” the statement read.

He urged the public to disregard any communication from the suspected scammers.

“These are intentional deceptions aimed at manipulating their victims,” he added.
