EPL: Carragher names three players who can’t win title for Arsenal

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has claimed that three players in the current Arsenal squad will not help them win the Premier League title.

Carragher made this statement while speaking on Monday Night Football.

He highlighted the quality of attackers in previous title-winning Arsenal squads in comparison to the current team.

Under Mikel Arteta, the Gunners have come close to winning the title twice, finishing behind Manchester City on both occasions.

This season, they are currently six points behind Liverpool, who have a game in hand.

The Reds are enjoying an excellent campaign under new manager Arne Slot, who has only lost twice all season.

“I’ll give you three reasons [why Arsenal can’t win the league],” Carragher said.

“They [Petit’s Arsenal squad in ’97-98] had Marc Overmars, Nicolas Anelka, and Dennis Bergkamp.

“This team, at the moment, is playing with [Gabriel] Martinelli, [Leandro] Trossard, and [Kai] Havertz… it’s not enough.”
