Ex-APGA Chair, Njoku takes over NRM

A former National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Chief Edozie Njoku, has been sworn in as the new National Chairman of the National Rescue Mission, NRM.

Media Talk Africa reported earlier that chief Njoku had dumped APGA and emerged the National Chairman of the NRM following an emergency national convention held by the party Abuja on Friday.

The former APGA chieftain became the new National Chairman of the NRM following the resignation of Amb. Isaac Chigozie Udeh from the position during the convention.

Media Talk Africa reported that Mr Udeh stepped down to take the position of the National Organising Secretary of the party.

Speaking during the swearing-in and handing over ceremony in Abuja on Tuesday, the former National Chairman of the party, who is now the National Organising Secretary, Isaac Chigozie Udeh, opened up on why he decided to step down for Njoku.

He said, โ€œThe interest of the party supersedes any individualistic interests, and that is why I paid that price.

โ€œThat is why I made that sacrifice to ensure that this party is repositioned to the height that is required of it to win elections in this country.โ€

Media Talk Africa reported earlier how Njoku conceded defeat, saying he would comply with the judgment recognising Sylvester Ezeokenwa as the National Chairman of APGA.

This was after the Victor Oye-led faction of the party, backed by the Governor of Anambra State, Chukwuma Soludo, was recognised by the Supreme Court.
