EPL: ‘It’s bound to happen’ – Aguero on Arsenal’s title chances

Manchester City legend, Sergio Aguero has backed Arsenal to win the Premier League title ‘sooner rather than later’.

Aguero also dismissed the suggestion that Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta should be under pressure at Arsenal.

Arsenal came close to winning the Premier League title in the last two seasons.

Arteta’s side finished in second position twice behind champions Manchester City.

This season, the Gunners are currently in the second position with six points behind leaders Liverpool, who have a game in hand.

“I don’t see why Mikel Arteta should feel under pressure,” Aguero, who has won the League title five times, told Stake.

“Look at where Arsenal were before he arrived and how they’ve evolved under his guidance.

“They’ve been consistently competing at the top, which is not easy when you are up against sides like Man City and Liverpool who have also been giving concerted efforts to take the trophy.

“Arsenal, since entering this new cycle, have shown up consistently. They have got great players and a newfound trademark playing style.

“The fans ought to be happy. I’m sure winning the Premier League is their end goal, and I believe it’s bound to happen sooner rather than later.”
