Europa League: Hoffenheim must beat Tottenham Hotspur – Akpoguma

Kevin Akpoguma has rallied his Hoffenheim teammates ahead of their UEFA Europa League clash with Tottenham Hotspur.

The Bundesliga club will welcome Spurs to the PreZero Arena in a matchday seven encounter on Thursday (today).

Hoffenheim ended their 11-game winless run following a 3-1 victory over Holstein Kel last weekend.

Akpoguma said it is important for them to maintain the momentum against their Premier League opposition.

“We are really looking forward to the game. There is a lot at stake, we have to try everything to make the game a success,” the centre-back was quoted by the club’s official website.

“And regardless of the league table situation, we can show that we are a good team. The victory in Kiel brought positive energy to the team.

“We want to take that with us now. I am really looking forward to the game and see it as a big challenge. But it is not a bonus game for us, rather a very important game for which we have big plans.”
