EPL: 10-man Arsenal beat Wolves to keep pace with Liverpool

Arsenal pulled off a remarkable 1-0 win over Wolves to keep pace with Premier League leaders, Liverpool.

The Gunners came into the game six points off Arne Slot’s men, following their 2-2 draw with Aston Villa last weekend.

And they almost took the lead twice in the first half, but Kai Havertz flunked two good chances to score.

However, the game was turned on its head, after referee Michael Oliver showed a straight red card to Miles Lewis-Skelly for stopping a counter-attack.

Arsenal stayed in the game until Oliver showed a second yellow card to Joao Gomes, which means both teams played out the remainder of the game with 10 men each.

Riccardo Calafiori, who had taken Lewis-Skelly spot at left-back, scored a sublime winner as Mikel Arteta’s men took an improbable three points from the Molineux.

Liverpool continued their hunt for another Premier League title with a 4-1 hammering of Ipswich Town.

Cody Gakpo scored twice for the hosts, while Mohamed Salah and Dominik Szoboszlai also got on the scoresheet.

They still have a game in hand against Everton.
