AEDC announces outage in Abuja

Abuja Electricity Distribution Company, AEDC, has confirmed a power outage in parts of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

AEDC disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday.

The distribution company explained that the outage was due to a technical fault on the feeder serving the area affected by the outage.

“Dear valued customers in Central Area, Wuse Zone 3 & 4, Nicon Hotel, Sheraton Hotel, Grand Square, Rochas Plaza, MTN Switch Yard, Millennium Park, Statement Hotel, Police Station Wuse Zone 3, Kings Care Hospital, Abidjan Street, Abacha Estate, Labour House, Stanbic Bank, GT Bank, First Bank, Ikwerre Street, and surrounding areas.

“This is to inform you that the power outage is due to a technical fault on the feeder serving these areas. Our dedicated technical team is working tirelessly to restore power as quickly as possible,” the Disco explained.

Earlier, parts of Abuja experienced a two-week outage due to the relocation of the 33KV DC Airport Feeder and 132KV Kukwaba-Apo Transmission Line Towers along the Outer Southern Motorway.

Media Talk Africa reports that there have been a series of electricity disruptions in Abuja due to maintenance and other technical issues.
