NSCDC CG Audi warns personnel against misuse of firearms

The Commandant General, CG, of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Ahmed Abubakar Audi, has charged officers of the agency to put into use principles and techniques acquired during their Pistol Management Course, PMC 002, for enhanced service delivery.

The CG, while warning personnel against misuse of firearms, in a statement by CSC Babawale Zaid Afolabi, National PRO, NSCDC National Headquarters, Abuja, said Dr. Audi stated this while delivering a keynote address at the closing ceremony of the second batch of trainees at the NSCDC National Headquarters.

It said the CG, who was represented by the Assistant Commandant General in charge of Training and Manpower, ACG Lawal Muktar, charged the 214 personnel to apply the principles and techniques acquired to enhance their service delivery and ensure the safety and security of the nation.

He further stressed the critical importance of the training, designed to equip them with the skills to handle firearms precisely and responsibly, while adhering to the highest ethical standards.

On his part, the Provost of the NSCDC Academy, Assistant Commandant General (ACG) Samuel Umanah, appreciated the participants for their diligent efforts and commended the instructors for their effectiveness in maximizing trainee performance.

Speaking in an address of welcome, the Provost further encouraged the participants to apply the knowledge and skills acquired in the execution of their duties.

It said the second batch of the rigorous Pistol Management Course lasted for two weeks, and its participants were carefully drawn from all state commands, FCT, and National Headquarters of the Corps.

Responding on behalf of the other participants, Assistant Commandant of Corps (ACC) Timothy Abraham, appreciated the Commandant General for the value the course had added, saying it would make a significant impact on their respective duties.

Other highlights of the ceremony included the presentation of awards to deserving participants in recognition of officers for their outstanding performance, followed by certificates of participation and group photographs.
