NPFL: Ogunbote reacts to Shooting Stars win over Nasarawa United

Shooting Stars technical adviser, Gbenga Ogunbote, has admitted that the victory over Nasarawa United was a tough battle.

Goals from Tijani Kabir and Sodiq Ibrahim gave Shooting Stars a 2-0 win against Nasarawa United at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan on Wednesday.

Ogunbote believes the game will prepare his team in their push for a continental spot.

“I wasn’t expecting anything less. When you’re playing against a team trying to avoid the drop, they give everything just to secure at least a point,” Ogunbote told Shooting Stars media.

“It was a good test for us, preparing us and giving us hope as we push for a continental spot.”

Shooting Stars moved up to second position on the league table with 36 points following the win.
