Abia Police track, recover six stolen vehicles, ask owners to come for identification

The Abia State Police Command has announced the recovery of six cars stolen by criminal elements disturbing the peace of the state.

The command’s spokesperson, DSP Maureen Chioma Chinaka, said in a statement on Friday that the recovery followed a raid of a criminal hideout in Uratta, Aba.

According to the statement, the operation was carried out by the Rapid Response Squad of the state command during an intelligence-led sting operation.

The PPRO noted that the vehicles were mostly snatched at gunpoint, stressing that the suspects were tracked before they were arrested.

The recovered vehicles include: an Ash-colored Toyota Camry, Reg No: LSD 885 CX; Aris Red-colored Toyota, Reg No: GDD 254 AA, Chassis No: JTOBT90317113755; Navy Blue-colored Toyota RAV4, Reg No: AG 743 BRR, Chassis No: JTEGH20V810030195; Black-colored Toyota 4Runner, Reg No: ABC 903 BR, Chassis No: ZT3HN86Y0323994.

Others are a Toyota RAV4, Reg No: KTU 778 BR, Chassis No: JTEGH20V430090641, and an Ash-colored Toyota Sienna, Reg No: GWB 350 HM, Chassis No: 5TD2A23C45128038, Engine No: 4201838.

“The public is hereby notified that anyone with valid documents related to the above-mentioned vehicles should visit the Command Headquarters for authentication and reclamation,” she added.
