Palestinians have started arriving at the Rafah Crossing, which has reopened as part of the recent hostage-ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel.
Footage from the scene shows children and their caregivers waiting to cross into Egypt, with the crossing initially set to allow the passage of 50 injured persons, including both terror operatives and civilians, as well as their accompanying persons.
An additional 100 individuals, most likely students, are expected to be permitted to cross on humanitarian grounds.
The Hamas-run Gaza Health Ministry has confirmed that 50 sick and wounded children, along with 61 companions, are scheduled for evacuation through the crossing.
Rafah had been the only exit point for Palestinians during the conflict before it was closed in May.
The European Union deployed a civilian mission on Friday to assist in preparing for the crossingā€™s reopening.
