EPL: ‘It’s no longer working’ — Man City told to sack Guardiola after 5-1 defeat

Former Manchester United defender Mikael Silvestre has urged Manchester City to sack Pep Guardiola.

This came after the Cityzens’ humiliating 5-1 defeat to Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday.

Guardiola is going through what could be described as the worst season of his entire career as a manager.

He is one of the most successful managers in Premier League history, with six league titles and an average of 2.31 points per game from his 328 games.

However, Silvestre believes his tactics are no longer working and thinks it is time to part ways with the Catalan.

In comments made via Metro, the former French defender said: “Honestly, I would [consider sacking Guardiola]. If I were running the club or if I were an executive, I would have these thoughts with the owners.

“How many times have they tried to readdress the team and make sure they’re winning games and dominating like they used to? It’s not working.”

The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss is unlikely to be sacked by Man City despite the loss to Arsenal.
