Federation Cup: Boboye targets long run with Akwa United

Akwa United’s technical adviser Kennedy Boboye has expressed the team’s determination to reach the final of the 2025 President Federation Cup.

The Promise Keepers will face Pillars Investors in the qualifying round of the competition.

Akwa United are currently battling relegation in the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL.

They have yet to record a win since the appointment of Kennedy Boboye.

Boboye believes that a win would boost the team’s confidence in the NPFL.

“At this point, it is important for us to win every match we play, irrespective of who our opponents are,” Boboye told Akwa United media.

“Knockout competitions are full of surprises, and we won’t gamble with our selection. We will approach this match with all seriousness, knowing that victory will boost our morale and restore our confidence.”

“The FA Cup is a knockout competition, and we cannot afford to underrate any team. Our focus is to win our games and ensure we secure qualification to represent the state in the President Federation Cup competition.”
