‘I feel good here’ – Arsenal star, Lokonga doesn’t want to return to Emirates Stadium

Arsenal star, Albert Sambi Lokonga does not want to return to the Emirates Stadium again.

Lokonga is currently on loan at La Liga side Sevilla and wants to remain their permanently.

The player has been playing outside of the Emirates since 2023 as Mikel Arteta’s side prefers to send him on lone to other clubs.

Lokonga, now 25, arrived Arsenal from Dutch top flight side Anderlecht in July 2021 and played his first game for the senior team against Brentford in August that year.

He went on to play 39 games for Arsenal so far but spent the latter half of the 2022-23 season on loan at Premier League rivals, Crystal Palace before joining Luton Town last season, also on loan.

Right now he is at Sevilla on loan and has contributed two assists in 16 appearances across competitions.

Speaking in an interview with Mucho Deporte, the player said he would like to remain in Spain on a permanent basis.

“I feel very good. I’m growing. I feel better with each game. After leaving Anderlecht, Sevilla is the club where I feel very, very good.

“I want to stay but it’s not just my decision. It’s early days and we’ll see each other at the end of the year,” he said.

The loan deal that took him to Sevilla included an option to make his move permanent.
