Amorim won’t regret letting Rashford leave Man Utd – Paul Parker

Former Manchester United star Paul Parker has suggested that manager Ruben Amorim won’t regret letting Marcus Rashford leave Old Trafford.

Rashford left Man United to join Aston Villa on loan for the remainder of the season during the January transfer window.

The England forward had fallen out of favour at Man United under Amorim.

Prior to his departure from the Red Devils, Rashford last played for Amorim’s side in the Manchester derby win last December.

However, Parker believes Amorim made the right decision to let Rashford go, having frozen out the 27-year-old from his squad.

“I don’t think he will regret letting him [Rashford] go because he won’t give Amorim what he wants. He is not a natural centre-forward either,” Parker told Metro.

“You saw in the Ipswich game that, yes, he scored, but he was non-existent as a centre-forward.

“He doesn’t like people behind him because he doesn’t like getting kicked.”

He added: “As well, he did not need that situation with Rashford and his attitude from January until the end of the season. He didn’t need that around affecting the squad.”
