EPL: Robbie Fowler names player who’ll stop Arsenal winning the title

Liverpool legend, Robbie Fowler, believes Arsenal need a better striker than Kai Havertz if they have “real aspirations” of winning the Premier League.

In the last two seasons, the Gunners have missed out on winning the title, losing out twice to Manchester City.

Arsenal have not been crowned champions of the English topflight since 2004.

This campaign, they face a battle with Liverpool to end that drought.

Mikel Arteta’s side are currently second and six points behind the Reds.

Fowler, who now works as a football pundit, has now said Arsenal must upgrade Havertz if they will stand a chance.

Arsenal signed Havertz from Chelsea in a £65m deal in 2023.

So far, the German has scored 29 goals across 85 games for the north Londoners.

“If I’m being honest, he’s not my cup of tea,” Fowler told The LineUp.

“I think he’s OK but, if you’re a team that’s got real aspirations of winning Premier Leagues and Champions Leagues, then I think you need someone better than Kai Havertz playing in that focal striker role.

“He’ll do a job but I don’t think he’s been as consistent as he would have liked. I just think there are better players out there.”

Arteta failed to bring in a new attacker in the January window, with Gabriel Jesus and Bukayo Saka nursing long term injuries.
