Police re-arrest Tiktoker, Sea King for allegedly cyberbullying Pastor Adeboye

Popular Nigerian TikToker, Olumide Ogunsanwo, aka Sea King, has reportedly been re-arrested in court premises.

The TikToker was re-arrested on Thursday for cyberbullying the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye during a live session in December last year.

He was re-arrested during his appearance in court and taken to Lagos State Police Command in Ikeja before being being flown to Abuja.

Sea King had appeared at a magistrate’s court sitting in the Ogba area of Lagos State on Thursday, for a separate trial earlier instituted against him by the police.

Human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore, announced Sea King’s arrest in an X post on Friday.

“We just departed the DIG Dasuki Galandanchi led Federal Investigation Department, FID, of the Nigeria Police Force, where we met Olumide Ogunsanwo in the company of police officers who had traveled to Lagos to kidnap him. Barrister Deji Adeyanju and Marshal D F Abubakar were present as lawyers representing Sea King and standing in for @InibeheEffiong!

“To our surprise, they disclosed that Olumide’s recent ordeal resulted from alleged cyberbullying against Pastor E.A. Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, in a TikTok session @seaking303 did in December of 2024.”

Sea King was first reported in December 2024 for insulting President Bola Tinubu and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu in viral videos on the social media.

The police accused him of cyberstalking, treason and conduct likely to cause a breach of peace.

However, the magistrate granted him N500,000 bail with two sureties in like sum.
