Security forces rescue two abducted victims in Taraba

Security forces in Taraba State have successfully rescued two victims abducted from Isini village, Sarkin Kudu, in Ibi Local Government Area.

Confirming the rescue, Iliya Jibu, Chairman of Ibi LGA, stated that a man and a woman were kidnapped late Wednesday night when armed assailants attacked the village.

During a press briefing in Jalingo, the state capital, Jibu explained that upon receiving an urgent distress call, he swiftly coordinated the deployment of police officers from the Ibi command.

The rescue operation was conducted in collaboration with local hunters and vigilante groups.

“The security team responded promptly, and when the kidnappers saw the approach of the forces, they abandoned their captives and fled,” Jibu said.

The chairman reaffirmed the commitment of Governor Agbu Kefas’ administration to eradicating criminal activities and maintaining peace throughout the state.

He assured that Ibi would not be a sanctuary for criminals and promised continued collaboration with relevant stakeholders to improve security in the region.

Jibu also urged the public to remain alert and report any suspicious activities, emphasizing the importance of community cooperation in combating crime.
