Champions League: Guardiola includes Rodri in Man City's squad, omits Vitor Reis

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has included midfielder Rodri in his side’s Champions League squad for the knockout play-offs stage.

This was disclosed by football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano in a tweet via his X account on Friday.

Romano also revealed that Guardiola’s side also omitted new signing Vitor Reis from the Champions League squad.

Media Talk Africa reports that Man City and Real Madrid have been paired together in the knockout play-offs.

The Premier League champions will host the first leg at the Etihad on February 11 and the return leg will be played at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium on February 18 or 19.

“Rodri has been included into Man City squad for Champions League knockout stages,” Romano tweeted.

“Omar Marmoush, Abdukodir Khusanov, and Nico Gonzalez also included. Vitor Reis, out of the list.”

Rodri has been out of action for several months due to injury he sustained last year.

The Spain international is the current holder of the Ballon d’Or after winning it last year ahead of Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior.
