EPL: You can’t climb to the top with these players – Neville warns Chelsea

Manchester United legend, Gary Neville, has warned Chelsea they are not going to have a perfect climb to the top.

According to the Red Devils’ former defender, Chelsea can only get a roller-coaster of results with a young team but won’t challenge for major titles.

He said the Blues have at least 3 signings to make this summer to put themselves in desirable shape to change the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal.

This was following Chelsea’s 2-1 Premier League home victory against West Ham United earlier on Monday.

“You’re going to get a rollercoaster of results with a young team, you’re not going to get a perfect climb to the top,” he said via Sky Sports.

“They’re going to pick up lessons along the way and we’re seeing that. They need improvements in two or three positions and they will know that it’s not just a case of these players developing and winning the league.

“They will need to add to the squad. [They should invest] in a goalkeeper, a centre-forward, maybe a centre-back.”

Chelsea are currently 4th in the Premier League table on 43 points, 4 points behind 3rd-positioned Nottingham Forest.

The Blues are expected to be active in the next summer transfer window to bolster their squad with a number of stars being linked with them of late.

Chelsea could reportedly reignite their interest in Victor Osimhen after the end of the ongoing term.
