Naira continues depreciation against dollar at black market

The Naira extended depreciation against the dollar on Tuesday at the parallel foreign exchange market, the second consecutive drop in recent days.

A Bureau De Change Operator in Wuse Zone 4, Abuja, told Media Talk Africa that the Naira fell to N1580 per dollar on Tuesday from N1570 recorded on Monday.

This showed that the Naira dropped by N10 against the dollar on Tuesday compared to the N1570 exchange on Monday.

Meanwhile, at the official FX market, the Naira dropped to N1,503.07 on Tuesday from N1,499.78 exchanged on Monday.

This showed it fell by N3.29 per dollar on Tuesday compared to the previous day.

Media Talk Africa reports that on Monday, the Naira tumbled against the dollar in the black market.
