NNPCL petrol price update – Media Talk Africa Nigeria

The pump price of Nigerian National Petroleum Company, NNPCL, premium motor spirit at its retail outlets remains unchanged in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, Media Talk Africa reports.
Checks by Media Talk Africa on Thursday across NNPCL retail outlets in Abuja showed that petrol is being dispensed at N965 per litre, the same price as in previous weeks.

This development comes amid speculations that NNPCL had reduced its petrol pump price at its Lagos retail outlets to N940 per litre from N960.

When Media Talk Africa contacted the National President of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, IPMAN, Abubakar Maigadi, on Thursday, he said he was not aware of any petrol price reduction by NNPCL.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, the National President of the Petroleum Products Retail Outlet Owners Association, Billy Gillis-Harry, and IPMAN spokesperson, Chinedu Ukadike, hinted that NNPCL is under pressure to reduce its petrol price amid a price war with Dangote Refinery.

This comes as MRS, in partnership with Dangote Refinery, announced a fresh price drop to N945 per litre from N970.

Media Talk Africa recalls that at the beginning of February 2025, Dangote Refinery reduced its ex-depot (gantry) petrol price to N890 per litre from N950.
