I was never suspended as LP Chairman – Dokubo

The chairman of the Labour Party in Rivers State, Hilda Dokubo, has clarified that she was never suspended from the party, either as a member or as Chairman.
Speaking to journalists in Port Harcourt on Wednesday, Dokubo addressed reports alleging her suspension by Ward 3 executives in Asari-Toru Local Government Area (her ward).

She explained that those responsible for the purported suspension “are not recognised as official executives following the dissolution of the previous committees.”

Furthermore, she noted that new ward and LGA executives across the state will be inaugurated soon and accused the individuals involved of “forging signatories’ names.”

Dokubo also denied allegations of rebelling against the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

She stated that she is being targeted because she declined an appointment to serve as an advisory member in a Labour Party support group, arguing that she cannot hold two positions concurrently.

Reaffirming her commitment, Dokubo declared that her primary interest is to ensure peaceful coexistence and unity among party members.
