My children saved me from depression – Bukky Wright

Popular Nollywood actress Bukky Wright has recounted how her children were instrumental in helping her survive the period when she slid into depression.

Speaking in an interview with Teju Babyface, the actress praised her children for stepping in when it mattered most, describing them as “the pillars of my life.”

She said: “Let me say that there was a time I was depressed, and I was taking antidepressants. But my children had to wean me off them. They have always been my number one critics.

“I don’t know if I could call them my pillars of life. They know that I would live my life for them. So, they tell me, ‘Hey, Iya, you have been living your life for us, but it is now time to live for yourself. Enjoy yourself and have fun’.”
