Kano rail line gets ₦150bn boost in 2025 budget

President Bola Tinubu has allocated ₦150 billion for the Kano rail line project, a transformative initiative aimed at revolutionizing transportation, enhancing connectivity, boosting trade, and driving economic growth in Kano and across Northern Nigeria.

The Managing Director of the Hadejia-Jama’are River Basin Development Authority (HJRBDA), Alhaji Rabi’u Bichi, announced this in a press statement issued in Kano State.

Bichi praised President Tinubu for including the project in the 2025 Appropriation Bill, emphasizing that the railway’s construction in Kano City, North West Nigeria, would significantly impact the region’s economy.

“We sincerely appreciate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s visionary leadership in allocating ₦150 billion for the Kano Rail Line in the 2025 Appropriation Bill,” Bichi stated.

He highlighted the project’s potential to improve the quality of life for Kano residents and solidify the city’s status as a key commercial and industrial hub.

“President Tinubu’s administration has shown a strong commitment to infrastructure development, as reflected in the 2025 budget’s focus on revitalizing hospitals and healthcare facilities,” Bichi added.

He also acknowledged the federal government’s broader efforts to stimulate economic growth and recovery, as outlined in the budget projections.
