NPFL: Rangers floor Remo Stars, Heartland win at home

Holders Rangers defeated Remo Stars 2-0 in a thrilling contest at Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu on Sunday.

The hosts took the lead on the half hour mark through Isaac Saviour.

Saviour netted a stunning free kick from over 25 metres.

Rangers doubled their advantage four minutes after the break with Kingsley Maduforo slotting home following an assist from Kenneth Igboke.

The victory propelled Rangers to third place with 38 points from 24 matches, 10 points behind Remo Stars.

In Owerri, Heartland defeated Shooting Stars 2-1.

Chukwuma Agor gave Heartland the lead on the half hour mark.

Shooting Stars leveled through Adam Mustapha from the penalty spot 10 minutes from time.

John Bassey won it for Heartland with a penalty two minutes from time.
