Finidi blames poor finishing for Rivers United’s defeat to Enyimba

Rivers United technical adviser Finidi George has said that his team failed to take their chances in the narrow loss to Enyimba.

The Pride of Rivers suffered a 1-0 loss to their hosts in Aba on Saturday.

Imot Obot won the game for Enyimba with a stunning free kick in the first half.

Finidi, however, commended his players for their overall performance.

“Before they had that free-kick, we already had a one-on-one chance that we didn’t take which could have changed the game,” Finidi stated in a post-match interview.

“After that moment they had that free kick which is debatable because we also had ours which wasn’t given.

“We pushed in the second half, after making some changes. Overall, I’m quite pleased even though we lost the match. It’s been a while we played this way. I must commend the players for the effort.”
