Man shoots father, son in Miami thinking they’re Palestinians

A man, Mordechai Brafman, who shot and wounded a father and son on a beach in Miami, United States, told the police he shot them because he thought they were Palestinians.

According to the Miami Herald, the arrest form for Brafman stated that he ‘spontaneously stated that while he was driving his truck, he saw two Palestinians and shot and killed both’, the newspaper said.

Meanwhile, the police did not say whether the two victims, who were hospitalised with their injuries, were Palestinian but mentioned they were visiting from Israel.

Various violent attacks on Palestinians have been reported in the United States since Israel’s war on Gaza.

Just last September, a 42-year-old woman, Elizabeth Wolf, allegedly attempted to drown a three-year-old Palestinian-American girl in Texas.

Recall that the Israeli invasion of the Gaza Strip is a major part of the Gaza war.

It began on 7 October 2023, after the Hamas-led attack on Israel.

Israel then began bombing the Gaza Strip, and on 27 October, a full-scale invasion was launched.
