NPFL: Remo Stars unlucky in defeat to Rangers – Ogunmodede

Remo Stars head coach, Daniel Ogunmodede, has attributed his team’s defeat against Rangers to bad luck.

The Sky Blue Stars’ eight-game unbeaten streak was halted by the defending champions, who won the match 2-1.

Ogunmodede’s side, however, maintained their eight-point lead at the top of the table after second-placed Shooting Stars also lost 2-1 to Heartland in Owerri.

The young tactician claimed his team failed to take their chances in the game.

“We had our fair share of chances but didn’t take them. They took theirs in the first half through a wonderful free-kick from (Isaac) Saviour,” Ogunmodede said after the match.

“And just when we were trying to settle down in the second half, they got their second goal, which gave them a lot of confidence and helped them secure the game.

“We had hoped to come here and win, but unfortunately, we weren’t lucky enough, and we lost.”
