Jadon Sancho deceived Chelsea – Mikel Obi

Former Super Eagles captain, John Mikel Obi, has claimed that Jadon Sancho “deceived” Chelsea with his initial performances after he arrived in the summer.

Sancho left Manchester United on a season-long loan deal to join the Blues.

The England international started his time at Stamford Bridge on a fine note.

Sancho registered two goals and three assists in his first nine league games.

But since his goal in the Blues’ 4-3 win over Tottenham on December 8, his goal returns have disappeared.

Since then, Sancho has just one assist from his last 12 appearances across all competitions.

“Jadon Sancho, he’s come on, and he’s deceived us with a couple of games,” Mikel remarked on The Obi One Podcast.

“We thought, ‘Oh, f*****g hell, now we’re getting the Jadon Sancho from Dortmund’. But he’s gone again. I don’t know what’s happened to Jadon. He’s disappeared.

“Off the grid. He takes the ball. He doesn’t go past people any more. He doesn’t create chances anymore. He doesn’t help the team as much as he should be. And [Noni] Madueke is now injured as well.”
