NPFL: Insurance midfielder in stable condition after horrific injury

Bendel Insurance have announced that their midfielder, Nnamdi Anthony, is now in a stable condition after sustaining an injury in Sunday’s league clash with Niger Tornadoes.

Anthony was substituted in the 45th minute of the match after Tornadoes goalkeeper Joshua Enaholo struck him in the chest with his boot.

The player suffered internal bleeding as a result of the incident.

Anthony is currently receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit of Edo Specialist Hospital.

Amadin Desmond Enabulele, the executive chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission and Chairman of the club, visited him at the hospital on Tuesday, accompanied by some top board officials.

Bendel Insurance will be away to El-Kanemi Warriors in Maiduguri on Wednesday.
