Rio Ferdinand takes stance on call for Ruben Amorim’s sack

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has shared his opinion on whether the Red Devils should sack their manager, Rúben Amorim.

Manchester United are yet to find their rhythm under the 38-year-old Portuguese tactician’s leadership this season.

As it stands, the Red Devils are just 12 points above the relegation zone in the Premier League table, languishing in 15th place.

They are also 15 points adrift of fourth place, and Amorim, who took charge at Old Trafford in November after the club parted ways with Erik ten Hag, has struggled to turn things around.

Since joining from Sporting CP, he has won just four Premier League matches and has come under intense scrutiny.

There are doubts over his future at Old Trafford, but Rio Ferdinand believes sacking him is not the right decision.

Ferdinand addressed the issue during a Q&A session on his X account, where a fan asked: “Do you think getting rid of the coach is the best option, or should we stick with him and push the club to support him with the right players during the transfer window?”

To which he replied: “No – coach stays!”

Manchester United’s next match is a visit to Goodison Park on Saturday, where they face Everton in the Premier League.
