Rihanna’s partner, A$AP Rocky set to buy English club after not guilty verdict

The proposed takeover of Tranmere Rovers is set to be completed, afer A$AP Rocky was found not guilty on two felony counts of assault.

The rapper had been charged with two counts relating to use of a semi-automatic weapon in a 2021 altercation with another hip-hop artist in Hollywood.

Rocky, who has two sons with singer Rihanna, was acquitted on Tuesday.

Sky Sports is now reporting that Rocky, whose legal name is Rakin Athelston Mayers, will be part of a consortium that is primed to buy Tranmere from Mark Palios.

The deal for the League Two outfit is believed to have been in the works for almost a year.

The consortium is looking to buy over an 80 per cent stake in the club, worth £15million.

This will mean that Indonesian investors, Santini Group, will keep their minority stake and remain at Prenton Park.
