Van Persie’s next managerial job revealed

Heerenveen manager, Robin van Persie, is set to be named the head coach of Feyenoord, according to ESPN.

Van Persie has only been a manager for one year.

The 41-year-old only took charge of Heerenveen last summer – his first senior coaching post.

But he is now on the verge of returning to his boyhood club as a manager.

Feyenoord are looking for a new manager, after sacking Arne Slot’s successor Brian Priske earlier this month.

Negotiations are believed to be advanced and the deal should be done in the coming days.

Van Persie is set to be unveiled early next week, after Feyenoord pay compensation to their Eredivisie rivals.

After retiring from football in 2018, Van Persie went into coaching at Feyenoord, where he had roles with both the academy and first-team. He joined Heerenveen in May 2024, and steered them to 9th in the Eredivisie.
