Rangers head coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu, has conceded the title to rival Remo Stars, Media Talk Africa reports.
The Flying Antelopes won the title for the eighth time last season, with Remo Stars finishing in second position.
The Coal City club have, however, struggled this term and currently occupy sixth position on the table with 13 games remaining before the end of the campaign.
Remo Stars top the standings with 48 points, and could extend their lead with a win at home to Kwara United on Thursday (today).
Ilechukwu believes the Ikenne club are the favourites to win the title.
“We’re not defending anything. Remo Stars have the advantage to win the league, that’s the truth,” Ilechukwu declared.
“And every other slot is open for any other team.”
