NPFL: Chelle watches Remo Stars overcome Kwara United in Ikenne

Remo Stars tightened their grip at the top of the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL with a hard-fought 2-0 victory over Kwara United.

Daniel Ogunmodede’s side left it late to overcome the Harmony Boys, with Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle watching from the stands.

Samuel Anakwe broke the deadlock for Remo Stars 11 minutes from time, while substitute Hadi Haruna sealed the points with a second goal deep into stoppage time.

Remo Stars sit top of the standings with 51 points from 25 games.

In the day’s other fixture, Katsina United defeated Enyimba 2-1 at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium.

It was Enyimba’s seventh defeat of the campaign.

Katsina United took a 2-0 lead courtesy of Bello Lukman’s brace before substitute Ekene Awazie reduced the deficit for Enyimba in stoppage time.
