Jigawa govt urges farmers to prepare for 2025 wet season farming

The Jigawa State Government has advised farmers across the state to begin preparations for the 2025 wet season farming, as rainfall is expected to be fully established by mid-June 2025.

Saifullahi Umar, the Technical Advisor on Agriculture and Food Security to the Governor, gave the advice in a statement issued to Media Talk Africa.

He emphasized the importance of early preparation to maximize agricultural productivity in the coming season.

According to him, the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has released the 2025 rainfall predictions and estimated planting dates across Nigeria’s agroecological zones.

He said, “In Jigawa State, rainfall is expected to be fully established by mid-June 2025.”

He urged farmers to take note of these dates and adhere to climate advisories to ensure successful planting and harvest.

Umar reassured farmers of the state government’s commitment to supporting agriculture through various interventions aimed at improving productivity and ensuring food security.

He encouraged farmers to leverage government-backed agricultural programs and climate-smart practices for better yields.
