Ukraine vs Russia: It’s impossible to end war this week – Zelenskyy

Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy has insisted that it would be impossible to end the war between his country and Russia this week.

Zelenskyy spoke at a press conference in Kyiv on Sunday.

“It is impossible to end this war this week with guarantees for Ukraine,” Zelenskyy said.

“To be honest, I don’t know how this can be done today without our meetings.

“As for the agreement, there can be no format where we are in debt for the old, we are ready to make new investments and be equal partners.”

Zelenskyy’s comment is coming after Karoline Leavitt, White House’s spokesman, said United States President Donald Trump could strike a deal to end the war “this week”.

“The president, his team are very much focused on continuing negotiations with both sides of this war to end the conflict, and the president is very confident we can get it done this week,” Leavitt said following the Conservative Political Action Conference, CPAC.

Ukraine and Russia have been fighting for close to three years since Russia invaded the neighbouring country.
