NNPP suspends Senator Sumaila, other prominent members

The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Kano has taken disciplinary measures against several members, including a senator and other legislators, over alleged anti-party activities.

State Chairman, Alhaji Hashimu Dungurawa revealed this to journalists in Kano on Monday.

He identified the affected lawmakers as Senator Kawu Sumaila, representing Kano South; Alhaji Abdullahi Sani Rogo, representing Rogo Federal Constituency; Alhaji Abdullahi Rurum, representing Rano/Kibiya; and Ali Maadakin Gini, representing Dala Federal Constituency.

Dungurawa expressed the party’s disappointment with the actions of some National Assembly members elected on the NNPP platform.

He noted that despite receiving complementary tickets during the party’s primaries, these legislators had allegedly acted against the party’s interests, principles, and values.
