What Buhari told me when I asked him to reveal his desired successor – El-rufai

Immediate past governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir El-rufai says former president, Muhammadu Buhari didn’t have a preferred candidate to succeed him during the 2023 presidential election.

El-rufai spoke on Monday night when he appeared on Arise TV program.

According to the former governor, prior to the primary election of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Buhari upon inquiry, asked delegates to vote their conscience.

He said, “I met the delegates in Kaduna State and they said they will vote for Tinubu, someone who has what it takes to win the election.

“I told them that they should wait let me meet the president and ask him who he wants.

“By the time I met Buhari, he said I should tell the delegates to vote their conscience. I returned to them and told them to vote for their conscience”.
